BIS Construction and Ship Services

Safety is Our Goal

Nothing demonstrates the Company’s commitment to the health and safety like the Company’s safety record. In the last four years the Company recorded approximately 250,000 manhours without a lost work time accident, and maintained Workers Compensation Experience Ratings of .80, .80 and .83 for the years ending 10/16/2008, 10/16/2007 and 10/16/2006, respectively. In addition, in the course of its performance under the Corp’s Orleans Parish debris removal contract, BIS and its subcontractors worked more than 1,500,000 manhours without a lost work time accident.

This safety record earned BIS Constrction LLC the 2007 and 2008 Safest 70 Award from Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation. This award acknowledges exemplary dedication and commitment to workplace safety and is presented to only 70 of LWCC’s approximately 22,000 policyholders.

In addition, the U S Army Corps of Engineers awarded BIS Construction and Ship Services LLC a safety award for its performance on the Grand Isle and Vicinity Hurricane Protection Project. In the course of that job, BIS Industrial and its subcontractors completed approximately 45,000 manhours without a lost work time accident.

More than any program or policy, this record demonstrates that BIS has created a culture of safety that protects our employees and the contractors and governmental personnel we work beside each day.
