The US Army Corps of Engineers awarded BIS a safety award for its performance on the Grand Isle and Vicinity Hurricane Protection Project for completing approximately 65,000 man hours without a lost work time accident.

BIS Construction and Ship Services LLC earned the 2007 & 2010 Safest 70 Award from Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation. This award acknowledges exemplary dedication and commitment to workplace safety and is presented to only 70 of LWCC’s approximately 22,000 policyholders.

BIS has received other awards including Special recognition by the city of New Orleans in 2006 for outstanding contributions to Hurricane Katrina restoration projects, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 2008 award for superior safety and work performance at Grand Isle, La. and the Dan W Renfro Partnering Award from the Corps for working through a logistically challenging and technically difficult project with the Corps, our closest customer.
